Detroit Tigers Bark in the Park 2023 is happening on 29 August and 13 September. It had its first event on 30th May among the three events scheduled this year.

The event allows visitors to bring their dogs to Comerica Park, one of the best baseball stadiums to visit for a baseball game. This is one of the many promotional events scheduled for the 2023 season by the Tigers.

Irish Heritage Night, University of Michigan Night, Little League Day, and Pride Night are other upcoming promotional events in the Tigers' schedule. These events are aimed to honour the culture of multiple heritages and other community works.

The franchise has a long-standing relationship with Michigan Humane, an organization working towards the welfare of animals since 1877. The Tigers support their local shelters with the help of the Bark in the Park events.

Several other Major League Baseball teams have an event dedicated to dogs in their promotional calendar.

Bark in the Park Comerica 2023

Bark at the Park Tigers is a special event in the calendar that allows visitors to bring dogs to their home ballpark. Fans can enjoy a Detroit game with their furry friends.

The celebration is presented by PetSmart, and the earnings of the promotion benefit the Michigan Humane Society. The event is held three times a year every season.

The first Tigers dog day of the 2023 season was held on Tuesday, May 30. The Detroit Tigers faced Texas Rangers at Comerica Park and lost the game 6-10.

Here is the upcoming schedule for Bark in the Park:

  • Tuesday, August 29 - Against New York Yankees
  • Wednesday, September 13 - Against Cincinnati Reds

Visitors require a special ticket package that consists of one ticket for the person and one for the dog. Only one dog per paid adult person ticket is allowed inside the stadium.

Each special ticket package purchased will provide the dog with a unique Detroit Tigers dog tag. The tickets for the occasion are limited and can be bought online only through the official website, as day-of-game sales are unavailable.

Dogs must wear the identification tag throughout the game and be accompanied by someone eighteen or older. Further, fans must provide copies of all up-to-date dog vaccinations, such as Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella, while entering the ballpark.

Failure to provide proof of vaccinations can result in non-entry inside the stadium. All visitors must keep their dogs on a leash at all times, and no retractable leashes are allowed.

Visitors must also sign a release and waiver acknowledging the risks and responsibilities of bringing their dogs to the stadium. The event features a Bark in the Park party area, which includes amenities like doggie restrooms and water stations.

The first event of 2023 was a success, as hundreds of visitors showed up with their dogs to enjoy a sunny evening at the Detroit Tigers ballpark. Although the Tigers lost the game, visitors had fun in a friendly environment with fun activities.

Bark at the Park is a unique and fun way to enjoy the game with your dog while supporting a great cause.

Tigers Bark In The Park 2022

Detroit Tigers Bark in the Park 2022 was held on August 31, September 12, and September 27. They faced the Mariners in the first edition of the 2022 season.

All the tickets were sold out for the game, and hundreds of visitors came along with their dogs to enjoy the match against the Seattle Mariners. The game ended with Mariners beating the Tigers 9-3.

The second event of the 2022 season was held on Monday, September 12. The Tigers faced the eventual World Series winners Houston Astros at Comerica Park.

It was also a soldout as fans showed up to the ballpark with their furry friends to enjoy the day. Astros shut out the Tigers in a 7-0 win.

The final edition of the promotion was held the same month, on the 27th. The Tigers hosted the Kansas City Royals at the Comerica in the season's final Bark in the Park match of 2022.

Hundreds of visitors came to the stadium with their dogs to enjoy the baseball game. The Tigers also did not disappoint their fans, winning the game 4-3 in the bottom of the tenth via a walk-off.

The requirements and features of the promotional celebration day were similar to the 2023 season. The visitors had to follow the same rules regarding waivers, dog tags, vaccinations, and leashes.

Similarly, the features of the occasion, such as the party area, a donation to Michigan Humane, and special ticket packages, were the same as now.

Tigers Bark In The Park 2021

Detroit Tigers Bark in the Park 2021 first event was on Wednesday, August 18. The Tigers faced the Los Angeles Angles at Comerica.

Tickets were sold out for the match, and there was a lot of excitement among the Tigers fan as Miguel Cabrera was on 499 home runs and had the chance of hitting his 500th at the first Bark in the Park event of 2021.

Cabrera could not achieve the feat, but the game was exciting, and the visitors had a lot of fun watching the match with their beloved dogs. The Tigers lost the game 3-1 thanks to Shohei Ohtani's 40th homer of 2021.

Two hundred and seventy-five dogs attended the promotional event with their respective owners. The second event took place on Monday, September 20, against the White Sox.

The Tigers won the game 4-3 with the help of Harold Castros' single to right field, which allowed Robbie Grossman to score at the bottom of the eighth when the game was tied at 3-3. The match was special not only due to the promotional event but also because Tigers star Miguel Cabrera scored his 1800th RBI in the game.

The franchise held only two Bark in the Park events in 2021. All the events had the exact requirement and features as the 2023 season, such as special ticket packages, donations, party area, dog tags, waivers, and vaccinations.

Other Teams Dog Day

Several other MLB teams have a dog day in their promotional calendar. Miami Marlins, Chicago White Sox, and Houston Astros are some such teams.

Miami Marlins Bark at the Park 2023 is one of the best upcoming promotional events in the calendar of the Marlins. Some teams, like the Cardinals, Rangers, and Phillies, have already completed the special event for the season, whereas some teams are still left to host some of them.

On the other hand, several major league teams do not have an event dedicated to dogs. Atlanta Braves Bark in the Park 2023 is an event that is not in the Braves 2023 schedule. Other teams with no such events include the Red Sox, Twins, and Yankees.
