Are The Savannah Bananas A College Team?
Savannah Bananas is neither a minor league team nor a college baseball team. They provide college players oppurtunities to play in a summer league with wooden bats.
They do not represent a college. But, athletes join the Bananas team from different college and university baseball programs.
The Coastal Plain League is a collegiate summer baseball league in which the Bananas play. The team decided to end their collegiate amateur summer league team in August 2022 and play their special brand of baseball, Banana Ball.

Dan Simon designed the Savannah team's logo. The mascot of Savanah Bananas is named Split.
Savannah Banana's minor league team had never formed. They have not taken any affiliation with Major Clubs. The club is more focused on fast and entertaining baseball, and they challenge the things which are supposed to be.
Their opponents are Party Animals, Harlem Globetrotters, and the Washington Generals. They compete against the Party Animals in their home games and the majority of their away contests.
However, The Bananas also compete against rivals from other countries, professional teams, and independent pro minor league teams while on the road. The Bananas will have performed 70 games on their 2023 Banana Ball World Tour. It will include 30 games in Savannah, in 33 cities across 21 states.
In Minor League stadiums, the Bananas frequently play away games but have yet to play in big-league ballparks. According to owner Jesse Cole, it is likely to happen in 2024 as The Boston Red Sox, among other teams, have shown interest in hosting the Bananas in their stadiums.
