Oakland Athletics Announcers And Broadcast Teams 2023

Oakland TV announcers are Johny Daskow and Dallas Braden. Amaury Pi-Gonzalez will be providing the Spanish play-by-play announcing.

Johny Doskow

Johny Doskow is in the Athletics broadcasting team as a play-by-play announcer after being called up after 30 years in the Minor league.

In a press release on 28th January 2023, Oakland confirmed his addition to the broadcasting panel for the 2023 season.

Doskow was a part of the MiLB team Sacramento River Cats for 22 seasons. During his time in Minors, he had called Triple-A Championships and five Pacific Coat League Championships.

He also won the Radio Broadcaster for the Fresno Grizzlies ( 1998-2000). He has been the voice of the River Cats since 2000.

After his announcement, the major league club Athletics posted the official announcement, welcoming him to their broadcasting panel. They shared his photo with written "Welcome Johny" on their official Twitter Handle.

Amaury Pi-Gonzalez

Amaury Pi is a Spanish broadcaster for the A's and provides Spanish play-by-play announcing. He has been with the team for 27 seasons till 2023 and the 46th season in MLB.

Besides Oakland, he has also provided broadcasting for the MLB teams Giants, Mariners, and Los Angeles Angels. He began his career in 1977.

His broadcasting career includes the 1986 World Series for CBS, the 1988,1989, and 1990 Series for the A's, and for the Giants in 2002.

Gonzalez was inducted into the Cuban Sports Hall of Fame in 2004 and the Bay Area Radio Hall of Fame in 2009.

The Spanish Broadcaster is known as the only one to have broadcast for four MLB teams in the Spanish language. 

Oakland radio announcers are Ken Korach and Vince Controneo.

Vince will also be performing his duties as a TV announcer alongside Johny Doskow. As per Awful Announcing, he along with Doskow will replace Glen Kuiper for the 2023 season effective from 23rd May 2023.

Ken Korach

Ken Korach will begin his 32nd year as an announcer in the American League as of 2023. He has been together with the A's for 28 seasons.

He will lead as a radio announcer for the 2023 season alongside Controneo in his 18th season as a lead announcer.

Before joining the major league, Ken spent six seasons in the minor leagues for the teams like RedWood Pioneers in 1984. He also used to broadcast football and basketball on radio and television for Sonoma State, San Jose, and UNLV where he spent 22 years.

His broadcasting duties led him to win the 2013 California Sportscaster of the Year and the 2001 Nevada Sportscaster of the Year from the National Sportscaster and Sportswriter Association.

Besides broadcasting he is also involved in several charitable works including the establishment of Ken Korach's A's Winning for the Community where he raised $50000 for high school baseball programs.

Vince Controneo

Vince Controneo will be on his 15th season for the Athletics and will be sharing the platform with Doskow for television announcing duties after NBC parts ways with Glen Kuiper.

Controneo was a former announcer for the Rangers Radio Network. He has also worked for television broadcasting during the 2002 season.

30 years in his broadcasting career, he began his career with the MiLB team Lynchburg Mets in 1984 later with the El Paso Diablos, and finally Triple-A club Lowa Cubs for the 1988 season. He won the National Association Minor League Announcer award for his effective broadcasting duties.

Oakland A's commentators and analysts are Manolo Hernandez-Douen and Dallas Braden. Chris Townsend will work as a Host and a Senior Broadcast producer.

Dallas Braden 

Dallas Braden has been working for the past three seasons as a color commentator and an analyst for the A's. 

He will be assisting Johny Doskow for the television broadcast as a television analyst. Braden previously worked as a pre and post-game host for NBC Sports California.

Braden was a former MLB player for Oakland who debuted in the 2007 season. He sums up his MLB career by setting a 26-36 record with a 4.16 ERA. 

The most highlighted moment of his MLB career was on 9th May 2010, when he threw the perfect MLB game in history against the Rays on Mother's Day. It was the 19th perfect game in MLB history.

Before joining NBC, he worked for three seasons for ESPN as a color analyst before joining NBC in 2017.

Manolo Hernandez- Douen

Manolo is in his 12th season for Oakland as a color analyst and play-by-play announcer for Spanish Broadcasts. 

He used to cover NBA and MLB games for several highest-circulated Spanish newspapers during 1982. Hernandez will assist Gonzalez with the Spanish broadcasting duties for the 2023 season. 

Being in Journalism for more than 45 years, he has covered a wide variety of sports and also was Sports Editor for El Nuevo Herald for seven years till 2007. 

Furthermore, he is also in charge of his own Sports Radio Program related to baseball at AcciónXGotas KIQI 1010 AM.

Oakland athletics Glen Kuiper is related to Duane Kuiper. Sportscasters Duane and Glenn are brothers. 

Duane is also an announcer for the San Fransisco Giants and a former major league player.

Glenn was the lead announcer for the Athletics till May 22, 2023, until NBC parted ways with the lead announcer because of his disciplinary actions.

He had been together with the A's for more than 15 seasons providing play-by-play announcing and pre-game hosting. Glen was born the youngest of two brothers. 

His elder brother Duane is also a longtime broadcasting member for another MLB team San Fransisco Giants. He was a former MLB second baseman and has played for Cleveland Indians and the Giants in MLB.

Duane is famous for his show "Kruk and Kuip" with his partner Mike Krukow. He is further known for his rare calls and has also provided the historical call in the 2010 World Series.
