Nick Martinez Wife Kimberly Martinez Is His High School Sweetheart

Nick Martinez wife Kimberly Martinez is the mother of their two daughters. Nick has been married to Kimberly for seven years.

Kimberly Cobian Martinez danced to an Ed Sheeran song at their wedding in November 2015. They met when they were only 14 and fell in love at first sight. The love birds now call the west coast their home with their daughters and have previously lived in Japan.

Nick Martinez played four baseball seasons in Japan, and it was during this time Kimberly gave birth to their first daughter. The couple welcomed their second child last year in August 2022.

Currently, the Padres pitcher competes in the World Baseball Classic alongside Bobby Witt Jr, Kyle Schwarber, and Miles Mikolas. Team USA, led by Mark DeRosa, has reached its second consecutive WBC final and will face Japan.


Nick Martinez And Kimberly Martinez Fell In Love As Teenagers

Nick Martinez started dating wife Kimberly Martinez when he was fourteen years old.

In an interview with the Dallas Morning News in 2015, the pitcher revealed the information and also gave a few details about their wedding that would take place in November.

When asked why he followed the British singer and songwriter Ed Sheeran on Twitter, Nick said he and Kimberly were planning to dance to his hit song, Thinking Out Loud.

Since their wedding in  2015, the couple has lived in two countries and become parents to two daughters. The couple welcomed their first daughter in the midst of changing their home from the US to Japan in 2018.

Kimberly gave birth to their second daughter, Stella Martinez, last year in August 2022. Speaking to The San Diego Union-Tribune, Nick talked about his three biggest cheerleaders and how their unconditional love makes him realize that baseball isn't the end of the world.

The baseballer also said his current priority is to be the number one dad for his two daughters.

Nick Martinez Family

Nick Martinez was born to a family of athletes with roots in Cuba to parents Nick Martinez and Annie Martinez.

The Padres pitcher Nick Martinez's ancestors have Cuban heritage. His mother, Annie, was born in Cuba and was raised in the province of Pinar Del Rio, and his father's family emigrated from Havana to America in 1961.

Nick's paternal grandparents and uncle are from Cuba. Only his father was born in the USA in Miami.

Nick Martinez's parents Nick Martinez Sr and Annie Martinez did not speak English. They raised two sons in Miami.

His mom and dad worked multiple jobs to send him and his brother to a private school. Nick and Annie were one of several attendees at his debut MLB game in 2014 for Texas Rangers against the Marlins.

The MLB Network interviewed the proud mom and dad as they shared their feelings about seeing their son live his dreams.

But before the reporter could focus his attention on Nick and Annie, he had a quick chat with the pitcher's uncle, who was wearing a Marlins jersey but had a Rangers cap. 

In the video, Nick's mother can be seen saying her heart was filled with gratitude and was ecstatic to see her son make his debut. Nick's father, who goes by the same name, said he was blessed to watch his son debut in his home ground in Florida.

During his collegiate career, the baseballer's father was a basketball player, but his career came to a halt after suffering from a heart murmur. But Nick Sr's love for sport continued, and he would play baseball with his cousins whenever he got the chance.
