Mookie Bett parents Diana Collins and Willie Betts divorced when he was in elementary school.

Though it might have been quite early in his life, Mookie never felt as if he had ever seen his parents separate. Even after their divorce, Diana and Willie continued to have an amicable relationship leading them to raise Mookie and his brother in a sound environment. 

During every step of his career, from Little League to the MLB, Diana, and Willie were always in the crowd rooting for their son, who expected them to be there. The former couple currently lives in Texas and make sure to attend their son's game at any given opportunity. 

Diana Collins Was His First Baseball Coach

Mookie Betts mother Diana Collins is a former baseball coach in Little League.

Mookie spent most of his school days with his mum, and on holidays in summer, he would visit his dad. Diana knew exactly how much she should push her son to play baseball. 

Diana taught her son the bat and ball game until he was seven. She had to retire after that, as at the tender age of seven, Mookie was already hitting some fiery shots.

In his many interviews, the Dodgers star has said he learned everything about baseball from his mum. Diana grew up in a family that cherished the game in Paducah, Kentucky. She was a softball star in her heyday and was a competitive athlete.

Her grandfather had built a baseball diamond in their backyard, so the family members would play baseball almost every day. Diana's competitiveness didn't die down even during her retirement age.

In an interview, Diana said even now and then, she calls Mookie whenever he has a bad game and asks him about it. Question him why he performed that move instead of doing it the other way around.

Along with being a baseball coach, Diana previously worked at the Tennesse Department of Transportation. She is available on Instagram with the username @dodgersmom_50. Though she is not an avid social media user, Diana has given a little glimpse of her family life on the photo-sharing platform.

One of her last posts on Instagram is with her precious granddaughter, for whom she shared a post for her birthday. The baseballer has shared several tribute posts for his mother on his Instagram. 

In 2021, as Mookie's bobblehead night was conducted, Diana got the chance to throw the first pitch. A happy and ecstatic Diana could be seen in the video shared by Mookie who was in the catcher's position, just like Diana was when he was seven. 

Mookie Betts Father Willie Betts Is A Vietnam War Veteran

Mookie Betts father Willie Betts is a former railroad mechanical superintendent.

Willie Betts served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam war. In 2016, at Fenway Park, the veteran was honored by the crowd as part of "Hats off to Heroes."

For Willie, when it came to baseball, he always focused on the tiniest details and told his son to do the same. Willie would say to Mookie to focus on how and why you are doing it.

On March 29, 2022, Mookie shared a sweet birthday post for his pops on his birthday. The MLB star attached images of his father from his wedding day as he captioned the post, calling his dad his best friend.

Mookie Betts started dating wife Brianna Betts while in middle school in 2005. They have been in a relationship for 17 years.

Brianna Betts, age 28, graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in 2015 and is one of the most famous MLB wives. 

They have only been married for two years. Mookie and Brianna have made their love last and today are one of the powerhouse couples in the MLB.

On his Instagram, on August 28, 2013, Mookie shared an eighth-anniversary post for his then-girlfriend. Mookie collaged pictures as he thanked his girl for being by his side since day one. 

Throughout the years, Mookie has shared tons of photos of him and Brianna on his Instagram handle, and in 2015, the couple even adopted a pet dog named Leo.

On June 29, 2014, as Mookie made his MLB debut for the Boston Red Sox, Brianna was present at Fenway Park with his parents. Brianna shared photos of her trip with the Betts family. A year later, Brianna was present at the Montalbano Award ceremony where she saw Mookie being honored.

In 2018, Brianna walked the red carpet event of the All-Star game. After celebrating her 24th birthday, she showed her growing baby bump a day later on August 8.

The baseball couple was expecting their first child together and on November 6, 2018, Kynlee Betts was born. Brianna continued to show her support for her husband's career and was seen by his side the day he was announced as the AL MVP of The Year. 

On January 7, 2021, Mookie and Brianna announced their engagement, breaking the news first to the PEOPLE magazine. The baseballer went down on one knee in Nashville, Tennessee as he popped the big question to Brianna with a 7-carat diamond ring.

The couple tied the knot on December 7, 2021, in an outdoor ceremony in Racho Palos Verdes, California. The ceremony was attended by several of their family members, including their three-year-old daughter and Mookie's then-teammate, Justin Turner.

Mookie And Brianna Love Doing Charity

The baseball couple, Mookie and Brianna, have put their platform to the right use. On their social media platform, Mookie and Brianna can be seen organizing events for the 5050 foundation.

Recently, the couple organized a bowling event, which Mookie classified as a major success. The event was held on February 8 and was the first annual bowling tournament of the 5050 foundation. 

Mookie Betts will welcome his second child with his wife Brianna in 2023. His first daughter Kynlee is four years old.

On December 9, 2022, the MLB star broke the news that he was going to become a dad for the second time on his Instagram handle. Shortly after sharing the picture of him and Brianna who had her growing baby bump on full display, the couple was flooded with several congratulatory messages.

The Los Angeles Dodgers team was one of the first Instagram handles to congratulate the couple, followed by messages from his teammate, Austin Barnes, and New York Yankees player, Aaron Hicks.

The couple already has a daughter named Kynlee to whom Brianna gave birth on November 6, 2018. Though Kynlee wasn't able to celebrate her dad winning the World Series Title for the first time, the little princess was present on the day her father was crowned the AL MVP.

Kynlee has attended several games on both coasts rooting for her dad. On Mookie's first father's day in 2019, Brianna shared an adorable picture of the baseballer falling asleep while holding his daughter in his arms.

Last year, Kynlee walked the red carpet of the All-Star event and even posed for the camera. It was also last year that Kynlee started her summer camp with Mookie and Brianna sharing a video of her first day on their respective social media pages.

Mookie Betts comes from a family with a great affinity for baseball. 

His mother, Diana, was a softball star in her high school and was his first coach. His father, Willie, was a track and baseball athlete. Willie would take him to baseball and basketball practices and games.

The baseballer has a brother in Mark Betts, who has remained away from the public limelight. But was present with him in the PBA Tour event as the two brothers enjoyed a bowling event. 

Mookie has a couple of athletic cousins as well. Terry Shumpert played 14 seasons in the MLB and made his MLB debut with the Kansas City Royals in 1990. In his 14-year-long career, Terry Shumpert played for six franchises hanging up his cleats in 2003 with Tampa Bay Rays.

His other cousin, George Wilson, played as a safety in NFL for ten seasons, having been signed by Detroit Lions in 2004 after being an undrafted free agent. Wilson retired from NFL in 2014, with his third and final team being Tennessee Titans. 

The Betts family is set to grow even further in 2023, with his better half Brianna becoming pregnant with their second child. The couple already has a daughter in Kynlee, who was born in 2018 and is now going to become a big sister.
