Michael Brantley Mother Nina Brantley And Father Mickey Brantley
Michael Brantley parents Nina Brantley and Mickey Brantley had him two years after their wedding.
They raised him in Washington state, though not together for the majority of his formative years. Mickey and Nina got married in 1985, had Michael in 1987, and in 2002, after 17 years of marriage, the couple called it quits.
The Astros left fielder, Michael, was only 15 when that happened, and the baseball player, in his interview with Sports Illustrated, said it was a difficult time for him. He loved his mom and dad equally, and to see them go separate ways wasn't something Michael wanted to see.
But Nina and Mickey did make all the right adjustments, which led Michael to spend equal time with them. Unlike some parents of athletes, Nina and Mickey have tried their best to stay away from the public limelight and do not have any social media presence.
Nina Brantley Was A Multi-sport Athlete
Michael Brantley's mother Nina Brantley is a graduate of Columbia Greene Community College.
She earned her degree in Business Administration and Management and, during her time, was part of the volleyball and cheerleading squad.
Like her son, Nina was also interested in America's favorite pass time and was part of the women's softball team. Academically sound, Nina was part of the National Honor Society and Deans List.
Nina has worked at Express Scripts for the past three years as an administrative assistant senior representative and has been in the administration role for almost three decades.
She was previously part of Indian River State College as an administrative assistant for 25 years and was executive assistant to the vice president of administration and finance. Nina also assisted the President's Office and was part of the District Board of Trustees.

Last year on Mother's Day, Nina, with the mums of other Astros players, threw ceremonial first pitches. It was a rare outing for Nina, who had previously never been seen much.
Mickey Brantley Is A Hitting Instructor After Giving Up His Job In The MLB
Michael Brantley's father Mickey Brantley is a private hitting instructor at Port St Lucie, Florida.
Mickey wanted to be a top hitter in the MLB and was on the right path. He received a full scholarship to Coastal Carolina and was a second-round pick in the Seattle Mariners draft in 1983.
He made his MLB debut at age 25 in 1986, but injuries derailed his career. By the time he was 28, Mickey had hung up his cleats and decided to take the coaching route. In 1994, Mickey joined the minor league teams of the Mets and Giants to become a hitting coach.
He then became part of the Blue Jays squad in 2005, but only for two years. Since 2007, Mickey has become a private hitting instructor.
Growing up, Michael would spend most of his time with his dad in a batting cage. Mickey was serious when it came to coaching his son and taught him every skill possible that could help him become a complete player.
