Mark Melancon And Mary Catherine Met During A Game
Mark Melancon married Mary Catherine Melancon on 31 December 2009. It has been thirteen years since their wedding.
Mark first met Mary during his NCAA regional game at the Notre Dame campus, where she played water polo. The Arizona pitcher used to have a crush on Mary during high school. At the NCAA game, the two met through their best friend from college.
Mary used to work at Notre Dame for the summer with her best friend. When her friend asked Mary to give Mark a tour of Notre Dame, they began talking. Nearly a year later, they were in a long-distance relationship.
Their trust in each other helped them maintain a balance in their relationship as they were from different sports backgrounds.
Mary gave a list of things the two could do together at their wedding as a gift. They framed the bucket list in their bathroom. Mark and Mary had their reception in the Stadium View Club at Rosenblatt Stadium.
Mark said in an interview with CSN Bay Area, “It’s literally in our bathroom and we look at it all the time and try to plan out what we’re going to get done. Because it is on paper and it’s a goal and all that, we’ve checked off probably 40 or 50 percent of it in six years.”
The four-time All-star player has a 10 million Jungle Villa in Mexico that has access to all the facilities like a gym, swimming pool, bar, and a beautiful sunset view. The couple is happy together and eager to complete their bucket list of things in the coming years.
