Jay Buhner and Leah Buhner had decided to raise their family in the Pacific Northwest after Jay's baseball retirement.
Since Jay desired to do commentary for Seattle Mariners and buy a stake at Northwest Sports after his playing life, it was evident that he would like to move to that region.
The couple wanted to purchase 100 acres of land to raise horses and bring their Texas to the Washington pacific shores.
In 1996, Jay and Leah bought their property for $1.32 million in the Seattle area. They made their house in Northwestern design with a copper roof, horse barn, and high ceilings in 2000.
Per the Los Angeles Times, the couple successfully sold one of their woodsy property for $2.075 million in June 2020. Moreover, Leah also sold a property they had at Kirkland, Washington, for $170,000.
The Couple Fondness for Traveling
Born in 1965, Leah is interested in traveling and her age has not slowed her passion down. She has made trips to various places in the United States with her husband.
On 31 October 2016, the love birds traveled to Maui, Hawaii, and enjoyed their beach life alongside wine.
Jay and Leah vacationed in Fredericksburg, Texas, on 10 February 2017. Leah captioned on her IG that it was a fun day with her favorite person.
For the 2017 Thanksgiving, they went on a vacation in Grand Cayman, Caribbean Islands. Her daughter, Brielle Buhner, posted their time together at the beach and told how they had planned to visit the place again next year.
They Are Also Involved In Charitable Deeds
Jay and Leah participated in a volunteer program for the Toys For Kids organization in December 2012.
The pair traveled to the 'Toys R Us' store in Bellevue at 6 am with other volunteers and spent $173,000 on children's toys. The organization was founded by people involved in Seattle Mariners, like radio commentator Rick Rizz and former player Dave Henderson.
Jay also helped in its foundation; he and his spouse participate in this program yearly.
The former Director of Mariners Public Information, Rebecca Hale, shared a Twitter photo of the couple at the Seattle supermarket. They were present with a shopping cart, buying toys on the eve of the charity event on 4 December 2013.
