Cats have stolen people’s hearts because of their, playful, adorable, independent, and affectionate nature. There is a vast range of kittens available for pet enthusiasts, some are cheap and some can be quite expensive to own.
Expensive cat breeds are mostly rare and exotic. Cats cost a lot mainly due to their breeding process and popularity. Breeding is done to advance a certain breed to produce the highest quality kittens and expand the breed’s lines.
1) Ashera ($20,000 to $125,000)
The Ashera cat breed is one of the most expensive cats in the world that can cost up to a whopping $125000 and only around 100 are sold annually. This cat is considered an exotic house cat and was developed by the Lifestyle Pet company.
The Ashera cat is a direct descendant of the African serval, the Asian leopard, and the common domestic cat. It was developed at the start of the 21st century by genetic manipulation in the United States. Despite their appearance, Ashera cats have calm and quiet characters.
2) Savannah ($10,000 to $50,000)
Savannah cats are a hybrid of the wild African serval cat and a domestic Persian cat that was developed in 1986 by Bengal breeder Judee Frank. Savannah cats are still banned in more than a dozen US states even after nearly 100 years of being raised in captivity.

7) Peterbald ($1,700 to $5000)
Peterbald is a relatively new cat breed compared to other cats on this list. They were developed in 1994 in St. Petersburg from experimental breeding by Olga S. Mironova. The first Peterbald was developed from mating between an Oriental Shorthair and a Russian Donskoy.
