Best waiver wire pickups Fantasy Baseball include Ezequiel Tovar, Mitch Garver, and Adam Duvall. These are the top three picks for Week 23.

Fantasy baseball allows fans to create their squad in the fantasy league and compete against other players. The squad comprises real MLB players who earn fantasy points depending on their performance in real-world MLB games.

Players can become free agents when they are dropped. Those players can be picked and added to the team from the waiver wire, which also consists of players who were not drafted.

Waivers put temporary freezes on players that are unclaimed, allowing everyone a chance to claim them. In case of multiple claims, the manager with higher priority will receive the player.

Here are some of the top waiver-wire picks in fantasy baseball:

  1. Ezequiel Tovar - Shortstop (Colorado Rockies)
  2. Mitch Garver - Catcher (Texas Rangers)
  3. Adam Duvall - Outfielder (Boston Red Sox)
  4. Nolan Jones - First Baseman (Colorado Rockies)
  5. DJ LeMahieu - First Baseman (New York Yankees)

1. Ezequiel Tovar

The Rockies shortstop has a roster percentage of forty-five on Yahoo and thirteen percent on ESPN. Tocar has been excellent in games at Coors Field.

With five of the remaining nine series being at home, Tovar can be expected to perform well. During his last homestand, the player scored two home runs while slashing .360/.448/.640.

Ezequiel has scored 65 runs, 61 RBIs, 15 home runs, and 8 stolen bases at an average of .256 for the 2023 MLB season.

2. Mitch Garver

Garver has been one of the best players in the league during Week 22. The catcher has recorded seven hits at 26 at-bats in his last seven games for the Rangers.

During that time, he managed to score six runs, six RBIs, and four home runs at an average of .269. Mitch is owned by twenty-two percent of the managers in Yahoo Fantasy League and seven in ESPN.

The player is slashing .279/.367/.889 for the season while scoring 30 runs, 36 RBIS, and 15 home runs.

3. Adam Duvall

The Red Sox outfielder had a terrific start to the 2023 campaign, scoring eleven runs and four home runs in his first eight games. His roster percentage of forty-one is the second highest in Yahoo.

However, since returning from a one-month stay on the IL list, the player has done little except for the last few days. Adam has come to form at the right time, scoring seven runs, eleven RBIs, and five home runs in the last week.

His record against right-handed pitchers is fantastic, and with him having to face only one left-handed pitcher in Week 23, Duvall should be scoring some huge points.

4. Nolan Jones

Jones has scored 13 dingers, 37 runs, and 39 RBIs at an average of .271 throughout the season. His stats for the last fifteen games also don't disappoint, as he has been slashing .268/.349/.464.

With an upcoming homestand at Coors Field, one of the most batters-friendly ballparks in MLB, he can be expected to do well in the fantasy league. His thirty-three percent strikeout rate might be a concern, but his hitting skills exceed those concerns.

His roster percentage is low compared to other players on this list, which makes him a great differential option for the week.

5. DJ LeMahieu

The Yankees infielder can be easily overlooked by managers because of his own poor performance to start the season and the rapid downfall of his team. But LeMahieu is having a great second half and is among the only bright lights in the Yankees dressing room.

After the All-Star break, the first baseman has been slashing .318/.425/.477 with a wOBA of .393 and wRC+ of 156. Further, he has scored six runs, four home runs, and four RBIs in his last seven games.

The schedule for the week is tough, with two away series against the Tigers and the Astros. But with nothing to lose, the player can earn big fantasy points during the week.
