August Monthly Awards MLB The Show 23 was announced on September 8. The Great Race of 98 was also released on the same day.

These awards are released monthly and are among the most sought-after cards in the Diamond Dynasty mode. The program is filled with multiple diamond-tier cards of athletes with the best performance during the previous month in Major League Baseball.

Fans must complete tasks, events, and missions to progress in the program and earn rewards that are available on the reward path of the program. The final prize in the path is a lightning card with an overall rating of 99.

Other rewards in the path include Choice Pack cards for players with an overall rating of 95, 97, and 98. Further, two cards of the Captain Series are also available for fans to earn.

The Monthly Rewards program contains some of the best cards in the video game.

MLB The Show 23 August Monthly Awards

MLB The Show 23 August Monthly Awards reward fans with the cards of players who had the best performance in the MLB in July.

The Monthly Awards program honors the athletes with the best performance in the previous month in the major league with a diamond-tier card. These cards help the fans to improve and update their squad in the Diamond Dynasty.

The player who had the best performance among all the athletes is honored with the Lightning Card. Julio Rodriguez was the lightning player for August, whereas Cody Bellinger was selected as the lighting player in the previous month.

Multiple 95, 96, 97, and 98-rated cards are also available in the program for the fans to earn by progressing through the reward path.

Lightning Player Cards:

August Player Of The Month MLB The Show 23

August Player of the Month MLB The Show 23 gets a Lightning Card with an overall rating of 99. Julio Rodriguez got the honor in August.

Julio Rodriguez had the best performance throughout the month in the major league. The player went 45-105 throughout the month, with seven home runs, 30 RBIs, eight walks, 19 runs, 10 doubles, and 11 stolen bases, while slashing .429/.474/.724.

He appeared in 23 out of the 27 games for the Mariners and helped the team to a record of 21-6. The All-Star outfielder collected 17 hits over four games from the 16th of August to the 19th, surpassing the Major League record set by Milt Stock in 1925 with 16 hits in four games.

Rodriguez also tied his career-high five RBIs in a game the previous month. He also became the only second player in MLB to record four or more hits in four consecutive matches.

The Mariners player also won the Player of the Week award on the third week of August, slashing .568/.579/.939 with 12 RBIs, four doubles, two home runs, seven runs, two walks, and six stolen bases.

Rodriguez was named the AL Player of the Month for August. He ranked second in the entire league in on-base percentage, batting average, hits, and RBIs for the month.

The outfielder also recorded a base hit in a career-high fourteen games while batting .515 since August 13. The Mariners player ended the month smashing a home run in his last three games of August.

August Topps MLB The Show 2023

August Topps MLB The Show 23 program was dropped on August 11. The program came with new Topps Now cards and a special 99 OVR collection card of Framber Valdez.

The San Diego Studio also announced a special Collection reward within the Topps Now program. Fans who can collect a hundred Topps Now cards from any of the April, May, June, July, or August Topps Now programs. The special ones available in Battle Royale or Events will earn a 99 OVR Framber Valdez.

  • 8 Star Points – 93 OVR Topps Now Cade Marlowe and 1,000 XP

  • 34 Star Points – 97 OVR Topps Now Jon Singleton
  • 38 Star Points – 1,000 Stubs
  • 42 Star Points – 95 OVR Topps Now Jordyn Adams
  • 58 Star Points – MLB The Show 23 Jumbo pack
  • 60 Star Points – 95 OVR Topps Now Brandon Pfaadt and 1,000 XP
  • 72 Star Points – 95 OVR Topps Now Jordan Wicks

Note: Most of the cards in the program are from Set 3, whereas any Topps Now cards earned above the 58-point mark are from Set 4.

The video game company added a 99 OVR Topps Now Michael Lorenzen as a collection reward a week later. Fans must collect 125 Topps Now cards to win the Lorenzen card.

Similar to the programs of the previous months, users must complete moments related to players in the program and missions to earn points to advance in the reward path. There were 10 moments in the first week, 16 in the second, 12 in the third, and 16 in the fourth.

Completing a moment resulted in two start points for the user. Further, fans could earn further points by tallying 1,000 PXP with the Flashback Cards and August Topps Now cards of the first two weeks.
