Alejandro Kirk Girlfriend Sofia Castaneda Is Pregnant

Castaneda connection with baseball dates back to her childhood. She is the daughter of the legendary Mexican baseball player and manager Rafael Castaneda.

The former baseball player played 19 seasons in the Mexican Baseball League and shined with his baseball bat in seven franchises.

Fondly known as "Chivigon" by baseball fans in Mexico and around the globe, after hanging up his clits, Rafael decided to move towards management. Before he passed away on June 23, 2020, at 52 years of age, he was one of the Tijuana Bulls' assisting managers.

On her Instagram handle, Sofia posted a tribute to her later father, with many of her well-wishers and fans of the late baseballer flooding the comment section with tributes and messages of condolence. 

One of Sofia's siblings, Rafael Jr, has followed in the footsteps of his father and has signed a professional contract with the MLB team Florida Marlins and plays for Tijuana Bulls. But in the past, even Sofia had tried her hand at baseball.

The daughter of the legendary baseball player is a former softball player, having played the majority of her career in Mexico. On her Instagram handle, Sofia has kept her softball career as a highlight, and in 2018 she even won a cup championship with her Gaviotas team.

One of the Twitter videos shared by Rafael in 2018 shows the former baseball player training his daughter. Rafael captioned the video, "Working with my princess" as he threw the baseball at Sofia as she practiced her swing. Sofia later reshared the tweet on her Twitter handle, stating she missed training with her dad.

Since 2019, Sofia has also tried her hands at modeling with the Mexican beauty, previously having endorsed swimwear brand Maranda Swimwear. Nowadays, Sofia is mostly seen at the Rogers Center cheering for Alejandro, and next season, Sofia will bring a cheering partner to the Center.

Alejandro does not have a wife as he and Sofia are not yet married.

Kirk and his partner Castaneda welcomed a baby in March 2023.

A few weeks after celebrating Alejandro's induction into the 2022 All-Star team, the catcher and his partner shared the exciting news to their Instagram followers with a photo they clicked at the mound of Rogers Center.

On August 2022, Alejandro captioned the post of him and Sofia holding a baby jersey with, "Coming soon." Four months later, in December, the baseball couple had a maternity photoshoot at the Tijuana, Baja, California. 

There's no doubt that Kirk knew about Sofia for a long time. The catcher previously played for Toros de Tijuana, the team her father previously managed. But there are no hints whether they met during the catcher's time in the MLB.

The MLB star went public with his romance with Sofia on Instagram in 2021 as he shared the photo of him holding hands with the former softball player during their date night at St. Petersburg Pier. 

But on their respective Facebook handle, where they aren't seen much, the couple revealed they were dating a month earlier, as they shared loved-up photos. Later that year, the young couple also took a trip to New York City, with Sofia sharing a couple of photos from their fun trip on her Instagram handle.

The better half of Alejandro Kirk has previously been seen at the Rogers Center cheering for her man from the stands, and her Twitter account is filled with videos of the catcher excelling in his field.

That same year the couple celebrated Alejandro turning 23 at Valle de Guadalupe, Baja California, with Alejandro's family. So, it looks like Sofia has already made herself familiar with the catcher's family. 

She was previously seen with the Kirk family on the red carpet of the MLB All-Star game as she celebrated the momentous occasion of her partner's career with their close family members and friends. 

In one of her tweets from November, Sofia might have revealed their baby's name as she shared a gif of Lisa Simpson dancing and shared that this was similar to what "Emilia" was doing in her tummy last night.

Now with Alejandro and Sofia ready to welcome a new addition to the family in 2023, we might as well hear the wedding bells soon.
